Tweet Shell Command

If you are here, it’s because you probably followed the link that says via shell command in one of my tweets.  Shell command is my secret weapon for Twitter.  It started as a simple little Python program that lets me type:

$ tweet "I've fallen and I can't get up."

or whatever else comes to mind.  The idea was to make it so I didn’t have to wait for some big Twitter client to load… and I could use other tools to make tweeting more convenient, like this command that sends a tweet at 12:00PM:

$ at 12pm
at > tweet "I'm going to lunch"

Right now, the tool is pretty simple… but makes automating tweeting pretty easy.  Every once in a while I add something new to it. When it’s more useful, I think I’ll release it under the GPL.
