This week’s recommended reading:
- Bruce Schneier has pointed out three extremely thought provoking rants on security. I especially love the rant that points out companies are spending billions on security and getting beat by people who can’t spell. Incidentally, if you care about computer security and do not read Bruce’s blog, I strongly recommend that you start. Bruce’s perspective is refreshingly clean of the groupthink and does not have a fetish for buzzwords. More importantly, Bruce tends to be right.
- Erik Deckers has successfully explained why Oregon is so hard to explain.
- As many of you know, my wife and I publish an education news blog. Last week this Cato Institute video showed up and really shocked me. It’s amazing how much we spend on education, especially after you take into account what is being hidden. The Cato video lays out the hidden part:
