It’s not surprising: a disaster occurs and now the media is busy over covering anything that remotely glows of nuclear power. Politicians are making costly mistakes by making long-term decisions based on very short-term nuclear fear. Reality is that Fukushima was literally a fluke: two earthquakes and a coastline-leveling tsunami in a 24 hour period.
Before we all rush too quickly to abandon nuclear power, we need to understand just what the other option requires that we give up air conditioning, and go back to burning wood for heat as renewables just can’t generate enough power, and oil, coal and natural gas will continue to increase in price as they become more scarce. Here’s the truth:
